Why go: This calm, shallow lagoon is Phi Phi’s most peaceful swimming spot. You’ll glide in through a narrow inlet, and suddenly—boom—you’re in a quiet, jade-colored pool surrounded by vertical limestone walls. There’s no beach here, just open water. Ideal for floating, swimming, or just sitting on the edge of the boat in total awe.

Why go: While most people use Phi Phi Don as a launch point for boat trips, it’s worth exploring in its own right. Tonsai Bay is lively with cafés, dive shops, and beach bars, while Laem Tong Beach offers peaceful stretches of sand.

Why go: Set along Phi Phi Leh’s cliffs, Viking Cave is where locals used to harvest edible bird’s nests used in Chinese medicine and for special Chinese delicacies before entry became prohibited. While you can’t enter the cave, boats pause here so you can admire the entrance and hear the stories.

Fun fact: The name comes from old drawings on the cave walls, once mistaken for Viking ships.

Why go: Though technically part of a different island group between Phuket and Phi Phi, Khai Island is often included in longer tours or combo trips. It's especially great for families or beginner snorkelers thanks to clear, shallow water and soft, sandy shores. You can snorkel right off the beach, and there are shaded areas for relaxing.

Famous for: Wild macaques that live along the shoreline
Why go: Monkey Beach is where you’ll get a close (but respectful!) look at the local crab-eating macaques. They hang out near the rocks, nap in the shade, and sometimes dip their paws in the shallow waters. It’s a great photo opportunity—just be mindful of their space and don’t offer food.
